I remember really enjoying Brent being more focused on playing grand piano, in 1982. The outro Estimated>Eyes is a good example.

the more I hear it, the more I think Never Trust a Woman is the 1982 equivalent of You Ain't Woman Enough.

This is a supremely hot show
Cliff, I feel bad that you saw this show but didn't enjoy it. WOW, it would have been AMAZING to catch this show. This is a GORGEOUS Peggy-O, an explosive Let It Grow, and A SUBLIME Scarlet-Fire. Screaming hot Scarlet-Fire. Sure the recording is flawed, and I pray the Rhino people invest in cleaning it up. But HALLELUJAH we have it even in this form. HOT.

Nice Scarlet>Fire
Not the best sound, reminds me of 1982 when I started collecting tapes. This soundboard would have been an "A" back then. Guess we are all getting a bit jaded now that we gave so much great sounding music.
Best part for me is Jerry's inflection in Scarlet. He always had an amazing knack to emphasize different lyrics on any given night. What great emotion.

welcome to the Mickey Mouse club
Grate setlist, grate show. Some listeners might think it sounds crappy, I myself think it sounds fine. It sounds like an 82-85 SBD. They pretty much all kind of sound this way from this era.
The highlights to me are, Peggy-O, Scar-Fire, and the Eyes. Birdsong gets a nod as well except for the aud patch (but you cant really tell)

WOW!
First of all...I LOVE CHARLIE MILLER! God bless your contributions my man.
Second of all...I understand this is totally objective, but to me? '82-'84 are my favorite years. Yes, even over '71, '74, '77' and '89.
I have NEVER EVER EVER heard a Scarlet > Fire transition as weird as this one. Bobby's guitar work is stellar. Don't miss the forest for the trees people...at the very least listen to this Scarlet Fire. WOW

bit overrated but interesting and worthwhile
A bit overrated, sloppy and lazy at points, but there's a strange psychedelic undertone the whole time and some moments of really intense stuff.

Geodesic Dead
After all the whining I thought I'd take another look at this, and I must admit, I was too hard giving this file only two stars, its definitely worthy of two and one-half.
There is no doubt Charlie is a genius, and his expertise and generosity are both very commendable, but this is certainly not anything close to his best, and I'd be embarrassed to call this a soundboard recording. Its mostly (typically shitty for the period) audience recording with some real dogshit soundboard patches. And its 1982 for chrissakes, so there really isn't that much going on here. I know, I was there! (89 pts)

The only real gold left in America in 2009...old Dead shows.
Trust fund take a hit out there in Summit County, Brah? Light one up and lighten up---this is the Soundboard---just not the full meal deal, if you can get over it!!! ;) Spiraling, ornate Scarlet>Fire and a very, very exquisite Peggy-O are my highlights....Jerry's voice and his licks and plucks in this Peggy combine for one of those real fine versions my ears are always searching for.

Thank you!
I want to thank Charlie for this. Just as I requested. I was at this show when I was 16 years old and what a show. It was my first Dead show. This soundboard is very good, I don't know why it is getting such a bad rep. Any way Charlie, thanks for completing the request, this one will go into the archives.

This show rocks and is not a perfect recording but if the power of this Scarlet > Fire doesn't hit you then you are pulseless. Thanks to Charlie for giving us a board of the most important parts of this really solid show!!
